First of all, what is ‘Free Range?'

Free range is a method of farming husbandry where the animals are allowed to roam freely instead of being contained in any manner. The principle is to allow the animals as much freedom as possible, to live out their natural lives and instinctual behaviours, regardless of whether or not they are eventually killed for meat.

Chicken

Our free range chickens come from Blue Haze Farm in Devon, which ensures high standards of care for the birds that roam freely outdoors and a bio-diverse environment. "When chickens get to live like chickens, they taste like chickens too!"

Lamb

Forge Farm provides excellent free range lamb that is raised with the highest standards of welfare throughout the year and is situated in Southborough, Kent. The natural rolling hills of Kent provide the grass the lambs are fed on.

Pork

All our free range British pork is from Adsdean Farm, situated on the beautiful South Downs in West Sussex. The farm ensures the animals are very well cared for and stress minimized at all times.

Beef

Our steaks come from free range cattle at Tanner Farm in Somerset, and are aged for a minimum of four weeks.

Jamón

Our serrano ham comes from Teruel in the north-east of Spain, with large expanses of land to roam on, at high altitude - great for curing the ham, which is done for 12 months.

Our Ibérico ham comes from pigs that roam semi-wild in the oak forests of Western Spain near Jabugo, spending their days foraging for acorns, which give them their unique taste. These hams are cured for 30 months. With the combination or the breed of pig, the superb natural lifestyle and the lengthy curing, it's little wonder this is widely acknowledged as the best ham in the world.

Fish and seafood

All our fish and seafood are from sustainable sources. We do not source fish from deep-sea trawlers. We do not fish endangered stocks. Good for you and good for the fish. Most of our fish comes our main supplier Chris Bean, from a family of fishermen in Cornwall, who supply fresh fish on a daily basis.

Vegetables and fruit

All our fruit and vegetables are seasonal for maximum freshness, nutrients and flavour; giving your body what it needs at that time of year. They are all sourced wherever possible from England and not beyond Europe. The exception is the bananas for some of our smoothies.

Tea and coffee

All our tea is organic and Fair Trade. Our coffee is triple certified: Organic, Fair-Trade and Rainforest Alliance. We get weekly supplies of locally freshly roasted beans.

None of our products are ever air-freighted.
